30 Please remember to mention OVL when responding to adverts The first Biddenham Show was held over 150 years ago with an emphasis on produce competitions which many of the local farmers would enter. The show in its modern guise dates back to at least 1930, and has been held every year since apart from a couple of years during the world wars. The show is organised by a small group of volunteers who are constantly seeking fresh faces to help, either throughout the year or on the weekend itself to erect the marquees and man the stalls. This year’s attractions include: Children’s Fancy Dress Fun Dog Show Candy Floss Human Fruit Machine Bottle Stall Bracelet Making Toddlers’ Play Area Bouncy Castle BBQ Punch & Judy Show Stone-baked Pizzas Ice Cream Beer, Cider, PIMMS Tent Teas and Cakes Jazz DJ The aims of the event are simple: to provide a traditional English village show where people can meet and have a great day out helping to better bond the local community, and then to donate the profits to village organisations.
